If you didn’t decide yet on your next holiday destination, consider Menorca, a place where you will never get bored as there are dozens of things to do. Menorca or Minorca is a middle sized island in Baleares Islands, archipelago located in the Mediterranean Sea and belonging to Spain. Menorca's population is 80,000 inhabitants, but in summer thousands of tourists make Menorca a very busy place. With an area of 694'39 sq. km Menorca has two official languages, Catalan and Castilian, although the locals commonly use Catalan. The capital and the largest city of Menorca is Mahon also known as Maó in Catalan language.

1. One of the first things to do in Minorca is to eat traditional Menorcan dishes. It is said that mayonnaise has been invented in Menorca. You can try "arroz de la tierra" , oven baked potatoes with meat, octopus , fish, or onions; noodles, beans and yellow marrow; "Oliagua amb figues", stuffed zucchini and eggplants or “Caldereta de Langosta”, a traditional lobster stew. 2. Another thing to do in Menorca is to drink “Pomada” , a traditional alcoholic specialty made from 1 part gin mixed with 3 parts lemonade in a glass filled with ice. For this recipe use Gin Xoriguer, a local traditional gin with herbal flavor.

3. If you are keen on water sports, there are dozens of things to do in Menorca that will keep your adrenaline at its peaks. You can try diving and snorkeling and remain impressed of the sea life just under the surface of the cleanest water. You may also try windsurfing, high-speed water bikes, water-skiing, rubber rafting or paragliding behind speedboats, or sea-kayaking.

4. You can also try climbing Monte Toro. Steep roads and adventurous paths will guide you to the peak of Monte Toro and offer in exchange of your effort a fantastic view of the region.

8. Every year from June till September Menorca is hosting many fiestas you have to include in your itinerary. One of the most famous fiestas is St. John’s fiesta (Sant Joan) held in Ciutadella on 23 and 24 June.

9. If you’re looking for a unique experience, then you have to go in Cova d'en Xoroi, a natural cave on a cliff in the south coast of Menorca. You can buy a drink and enjoy a romantic sunset.

10. If you are nature enthusiast, bird watching is one of the things you can do in Menorca and remain absolutely impressed by the island’s fauna and flora. The eccentric Hoopoe, the Red Kite, Booted Eagles, Buzzards and Egyptian Vultures will make you never forget Menorca.
