General overview

Situated in south east of the US, it seems that Tennessee took its name after a Yuchi word, "Tana-see” which means “the meeting place”. It is also known as the “Volunteer State” due to its important contribution during the 1812 war between the US and the British Empire. Its capital is Nashville situated on the shores of Cumberland River, is the second largest city of the state, after Memphis. Tennessee’s economy is roughly based on agriculture and services. Textiles, cattle, cotton and electrical power are also major industry segments, contributors to the state’s economy. Famous locations to visit in Tennessee

There are at least three places one must visit while in Tennessee. While in Memphis, take a walk on Belmont Blvd. and stop at the Sun Records office where famous musicians like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis began their artistic career. Bristol is also known for being the birthplace of country music. The second place you do not have to miss is Nashville, more specifically the exact replica of the Greek temple Parthenon. The building was built as a recognition monument of classical architecture in 1897 and it is the main attraction of Centennial Park. The third place you have to visit is Chattanooga the place where the first Coca-Cola bottle was produced for the first time. Another place that should not be missed during your stay is Tennessee Aquarium, also located in Chattanooga. You will be touched for sure by the over 7,000 animals: birds, fishes, reptiles, mammals and amphibians. You also should visit Knoxville during the Dogwood Arts Festival which praises the blooming of dogwood trees and the Appalachian arts, such as bluegrass music, quilting and doll-making.
