Environmentally Friendly Cars

Environmentally Friendly Cars

Climate changes and overconsumption have made the automotive industry change direction and consider environmentally friendly cars as the next generation cars. Environmentally friendly cars are seen as an eco response to the 600 million passenger cars in use worldwide today. Alarming statistics of worldwide CO2 emissions from motor vehicle cars indicate that over 900 million metric tons of CO2 are emitted yearly in the atmosphere. It seems that CO2 emissions are the main cause of global warming and climate change. On these grounds, environmentally friendly cars come as a new approach adopted by a more environmentally concerned society.

Hybrid Cars - Environmentally Friendly Cars

Hybrid cars may be the answer for the environmentally friendly cars, meeting both eco and efficiency requirements. High taxes, more and more expensive classic fuel and lesser petroleum resources are just some of the factors which leaded to a new approach in the automotive industry.

When buying a car, apart from the price, an environmentally concerned person normally assesses three main factors: mileage range, easy refueling and speed. Hybrid cars seem to be the solution to all these concerns. With a mileage of 482 km (300 miles), easy refueling and a normal cruise speed, hybrid cars respond to all these concerns. Using both gasoline and electrical power, hybrid cars may be a transit solution to full environmentally friendly cars. Basically what is happening is that hybrid cars can normally function with gasoline, as a usual car do, or with electrical power.

Gasoline cars pollute the environment while electric powered cars have short mileage, about 50 Km. This means that an electric powered car have to be recharged after every 50 km, which is not so comfortable for the driver especially in a large city. Basically, apart from being environmentally friendly cars, hybrid cars are the answer to an eco friendly and efficient mean of transportation.

The disadvantage of these hybrid cars is that their prices are much higher than those practiced for the classic cars. If you want to combine green thinking with efficiency, then you may safely consider hybrid cars as the answer for environmentally friendly cars.

Other Prototypes of Environmentally Friendly Cars

Among the environmentally friendly cars, Zero Pollution Motors Air Car is a new car prototype featuring zero CO2 emissions. Using a pint of gasoline this new generation car actually runs on air. Basically this car uses harmless compressed air to get propulsion. In order to heat the air this car uses a conventional small motor.

Magnetic air cars are also prototypes of environmentally friendly cars. Magnetic generators, magnetic engines and eco friendly batteries are seem to be terms of a sci-fi movie but they are just some of the features of this eco friendly car.

Another of the most environmentally friendly cars, Pininfarina Nido Concept Cars, are prototypes using electric power as main propulsion trigger.

One of the most exotic ideas is Verdier Solar-Powered Camper Van one of the most environmentally friendly cars ever imagined. Solar energy is the basic and most exotic features of this prototype. There are solar panels installed which basically can attract the solar energy using a GPS.

Before buying a car, think green and see environmentally friendly cars as the cars of your grandchildren.
